OK Radiohead

OK Radiohead are playing The Barbican Theatre on Friday 24 July, a full evening of Radiohead songs from a band that does exactly what their name suggests. They're a tribute act, and their whole set is built around the songs of the Oxford rock group, so if you're after a night of familiar territory rather than new material, this is the one.

Radiohead's catalogue is a broad one, and that's where the appeal of a tribute like this usually lies. You've got the early, guitar-led songs from The Bends and OK Computer alongside the more electronic and experimental turns of Kid A and Amnesiac, and then the later, more atmospheric records. A tribute band works through that whole stretch, bringing together songs that might sit on opposite ends of the original band's career and playing them in one go. It's a good way to hear the songs you know and a few you might have forgotten, all in the same room.

As for the band themselves, they describe their work as being dedicated to performing the classic songs of Radiohead, and that's the whole of it. They aren't playing their own songs or mixing in other artists; the set is focused on the Radiohead songs you'd expect to hear. It's a straightforward premise, and the evening is built around that.

The gig is at The Barbican Theatre, 38 Castle Street, in the Barbican area of Plymouth (PL1 2NJ), and it runs from 19:30 to 22:00 on Friday 24 July. Tickets are £15.
