DIRT - Drunk In Rebellious Times

DIRT play The Barbican Theatre on Friday 28 August, with support from Horse Divorse. It's a night for anyone who likes their rock with a bit of a twist, and it's one of the few live gigs on the Plymouth calendar that pulls from a few different traditions at once.

DIRT describe their sound as a fusion of rock, blues and Latin, and they're coming to The Barbican on the back of a new album. The set will lean on that new material, so if you've been following them, this is a good chance to hear the latest songs played live. The Latin influence is a bit of a tell for what to expect: they talk about rhythms that mark the pace and a live energy that keeps the set moving, rather than just sitting back. It's rock and blues, but with a different pulse running through it.

Horse Divorse open the night, so you'll get two bands on the bill rather than just one. The whole thing runs from 19:30 to 22:00, which gives you a full evening of live music without it stretching too late into the night. The Barbican Theatre is on Castle Street in the Barbican, so it's right in the heart of the old town.
