A day of family fun with live shows, a carousel, kids' activities and market stalls at Central Park.
Central Park Fun Day takes over the Event Space in Central Park on Sunday 30 August, a full day of family-friendly things to do in one of Plymouth's biggest green spaces. It's a mixed bag of a day: live shows and activities on the main stage, a carousel for the kids, and a market of local stalls to wander through. There are kids' games too, so it's built for bringing the whole family along rather than just a quick pop-in.
Central Park itself is the largest park in the city, and it's been around since 1928, so it's a familiar spot for most of us. The Fun Day makes use of that space, with the carousel and the market stalls spread across the grounds, and the live shows and activities running from the Event Space. It's the kind of day where you can drift between the stage and the stalls, with the carousel and kids' games keeping the smaller ones occupied while you have a look around.
One of the things that sets this one apart is what's included in your ticket. Every admission comes with a £1.00 contribution to plant a tree, which is estimated to sequester 0.3 tonnes of CO2. It's a small addition that means your entry does a bit more than just get you through the gate. The day runs from morning through to the afternoon, so you can make a proper outing of it.
