Outdoor, city-wide escape game inspired by the Wizard of Oz in which players solve puzzles and explore Pittsburgh with their smartphones.
The Oz Experience: Escape the Wicked Glitch! is an outdoor, city-wide escape game that starts at Forbes Ave and Dithridge St in Pittsburgh. It's built around L. Frank Baum's Oz universe, and the whole thing plays out on your smartphone. You're tasked with outsmarting a witch by solving clues and cracking puzzles as you move through the city, with original songs, hidden facts, and a few magical moments tucked in along the way.
It's a self-guided experience, so you set your own pace. The game takes about an hour and a half to complete and covers an area of around a mile and a half. Because it's all on your phone, you can play any day and at any time that works for you, rather than sticking to a set schedule. There's no limit on group size, but each player needs their own device to follow along. Costumes are optional, though they're highly encouraged if you're in the mood to lean into the theme. Children under 12 have to be accompanied by an adult, and the game is run in English.
Every week we pick 🏆 the 5 best 🏆 things to do in Pittsburgh and send them to your inbox. Just one weekly email, no spam.

Once you finish, you unlock a three-day pass for other Questo adventures, so the experience doesn't have to end when you've beaten the witch. Tickets start at $8.00.
