Second-Sunday flea market with more than 100 local artists and sellers of vintage and handmade goods, small-batch food and music at The SouthSide Works.
The Neighborhood Flea is back at SouthSide Works on Sunday, October 25, after the October 11 date was postponed for weather. It's a big one—more than 100 local artists and sellers gather there, and the whole thing is set up as a single stop to support the city's small businesses. You'll find vintage and handmade goods, small-batch food, food trucks, clothing, collections, services, and music all in one place.
If you've been around the city's market scene, you probably know the drill. The Neighborhood Flea pops up every second Sunday at SouthSide Works from May through October, and this October 25 date is the rescheduled version of the one that got rained out. It's a recurring fixture of the South Side's autumn, and the scale is what makes it work—with over a hundred vendors, you can spend a few hours just drifting through the stalls without seeing the same thing twice. The mix covers a lot of ground, from one-of-a-kind handmade pieces and curated vintage to local food and live music.
There's more to the operation than just the SouthSide Works dates. The organizers also run a Saturday Night Market at the same venue, and they partner with the Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy to bring the market to Schenley Plaza in Oakland on first Sundays from June through October. And if you're into the vintage side of things, the related Vintage Pittsburgh returns to the Heinz History Center. Between the two locations, the flea covers a good stretch of the city's market calendar.
