Family holiday musical with the Grinch and Whoville, part of PNC Broadway in Pittsburgh, recommended for all ages.
Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas! The Musical comes to the Benedum Center from November 24 through November 29, as part of the PNC Broadway in Pittsburgh series. It's the Broadway holiday musical you know—the Grinch, the Whos, and the town of Whoville—brought to the stage in a production that's played to more than 2.1 million people across the country. The New York Times called it "100 times better than any bedtime story."
The show runs an hour and 25 minutes with no intermission, and it's recommended for all ages, though they ask for no babes in arms. The score includes "You're A Mean One Mr. Grinch" and "Welcome Christmas," both written by Albert Hague and Dr. Seuss for the original animated series. The production was created by four-time Tony Award winner Jack O'Brien, with music and book by Mel Marvin and Timothy Mason. The sets are by John Lee Beatty and the costumes by Robert Morgan, both inspired by Seuss's original illustrations.
