Beginner-friendly exercise class that combines line dancing with cognitive brain health benefits.
Soul Brain Sessions is coming to the CEC in the Hill District on Monday, November 16, from 10 AM to 11:30 AM. It's an exercise class that puts line dancing and cognitive brain health in the same room, and it's built for beginners, so you don't need to have a dance background to jump in.
The idea is pretty straightforward: you're line dancing, but the focus is as much on your mind as it is on your feet. The organizers describe it as a way to combine the joy of dancing with the benefits of boosting cognitive brain health, with the goal of keeping your mind sharp and your body moving. Because it's beginner-friendly, it's a good entry point if you've never done line dancing before or if you're just looking for a low-pressure way to get moving on a Monday morning.
It runs for an hour and a half, so there's plenty of time to get into the rhythm without feeling rushed. The session takes place at the CEC in the Hill District, located at 2014 Wylie Avenue, Suite 501, Pittsburgh, PA 15219. If you're coming from downtown, it's a short trip over to the Hill District. One thing to keep in mind: registration is required to take part, so you'll want to sign up ahead of time rather than just showing up on the day.
