Weekly Wednesday gathering to work on a communal quilt, with plans to raffle it off for charity.
The Soft Tech Quilting Bee meets every Wednesday from 5 to 7 PM at Hunt Library, in Studio A (Hunt 106B), 4909 Frew St. It's a casual weekly gathering open to all skill levels, so you don't need to be an expert to drop in.
There are a few ways to spend your time there. You can contribute to the communal quilt project the group is working on together, bring your own quilting or piecing project to chip away at, or just come to hang out. Once the communal quilt is finished, the group plans to raffle it off to raise money for a cause they want to support. It's as much about the company as it is about the sewing.
Anyone interested in soft technologies or quilting is welcome, and you're encouraged to bring friends along. It's a low-pressure environment, and since it's a weekly thing, you can pop in when it fits your schedule rather than committing to a one-off event. If you've been wanting to get into quilting but didn't know where to start, this is a good place to find people who can show you the ropes.
