Holiday riverboat cruise on the Gateway Clipper where kids meet Santa, enjoy a DJ dance party and a special treat from Santa Claus.
The Gateway Clipper is running its Santa Family Fun Cruise on Saturday, November 28, as part of a holiday schedule that kicks off Thanksgiving weekend and runs through December. It's a riverboat tour built for kids: they get to meet Santa, dance to a DJ, and take home a special treat from Santa Claus. The boat departs from the Gateway Clipper dock at Station Square, 350 W. Station Square Dr., in the South Side.
If you're not familiar with the company, the Gateway Clipper Fleet is a family-owned operation that's been sailing Pittsburgh's three rivers — the Allegheny, Monongahela, and Ohio — since 1958. They've carried more than 25 million passengers over the years. Their fleet is made up of paddlewheelers, including the Empress (1966), Three Rivers Queen (2013), Princess (1999), Duchess (1975), and the open-air Countess (1979). They do sightseeing, dinner, dance, family and holiday cruises, as well as private events and weddings. The Majestic has since retired.
