Sixth season of professional portrait sessions led by several photographers in the beautiful spaces of the Carnegie Museums.
Friends and Family Photo Studio returns to the Carnegie Museums of Art and Natural History this winter, with sessions running on Saturdays and Sundays from November 15 through December 19. It's the sixth season of the project, which has become a bit of a tradition for Pittsburgh families: for a few weeks each year, the museums open up their most beautiful spaces for professional portrait sessions. You can bring your family, your friends, or just yourself, and the backdrops include the seasonal settings of Carnegie Trees.
This year's team of photographers mixes veterans with newcomers. Beth Kukucka has been an event and portrait photographer for over 35 years, with work published in Time and Rolling Stone. Cameron Brown, a Pittsburgh-based documentary photographer, describes himself as drawn to the unscripted moments of daily life. Darieus Veltri, born in New Kensington, is a freelance photographer who has shot figures like Patrick Mahomes, Terrell Owens, Damar Hamlin and Skyy Moore. Karlie Malone has spent the last decade capturing the human experience, and Jaye Frances is a self-taught event, portrait, brand and wedding photographer. Dymond Jewell is also self-taught, a portrait and fashion photographer who began her journey in 2021. Together they lead the sessions, so you'll be working with one of them for your portrait.
