Free science seminar with curator Dr. Lisa Haney about the new long-term exhibition Egypt on the Nile.
Dr. Lisa Haney is taking the stage at the Carnegie Museum of Natural History on Thursday, May 13, 2027, for the next installment of the R.W. Moriarty Science Seminar. She's an exhibition curator at the museum, and the talk is centered on Egypt on the Nile, the museum's new long-term exhibition. If you've been following the museum's recent updates, this is the one that's been in the works for a while.
The seminar is part of the R.W. Moriarty Science Seminar Series, which the Carnegie describes as its dedicated speaker program for exploring nature, culture, and the future of life on Earth. The format is pretty straightforward: you get to hear from academic researchers, museum professionals, and other experts, and there's room to engage with them directly rather than just listening to a lecture. This particular session is sponsored by Highmark.
Because Haney is a curator at the museum, she's talking about a project she's lived with from the inside. Egypt on the Nile is a long-term exhibition, not a temporary one, so this is a good chance to hear the thinking behind it before you spend an afternoon walking through the galleries. If you're interested in how the museum puts together its permanent displays, this is exactly that kind of conversation.
