PMT professional production of the Vietnam War musical Miss Saigon, with music by Claude-Michel Schönberg, at the historic Byham Theater.
Pittsburgh Musical Theater is bringing Miss Saigon to the Byham Theater from March 4 to 14, 2027. It's a professional production, with music by Claude-Michel Schönberg and lyrics by Alain Boublil and Richard Maltby, Jr.
The show is a sung-through musical set during the chaotic final days of the Vietnam War. It follows Kim, a young Vietnamese orphan, and Chris, a disillusioned American Marine, who meet at a Saigon nightclub and embark on a multi-year journey of survival. Because it's sung-through, the story is told entirely through music rather than spoken dialogue.
PMT is putting this on as a professional production, pulling local creative talent for both the stage and the wings and bringing in students from their Conservatory. It's a local effort on a big stage.

The venue is the Byham Theater in the Cultural District, which opened in 1903 as the Gayety Theater. The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust bought it in 1988 as the Fulton, renovated and reopened it in 1991, and renamed it in 1995 to recognize a gift from William C. and Carolyn M. Byham. It's a 1,300-seat house that hosts dance, music, theater, film, and family-friendly events year round. You can find it at 101 Sixth Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15222. Miss Saigon runs from March 4 to 14, 2027.
