Los Sabrosos Dance Co is running a hip-hop class for kids on Saturday, October 24, from 10 AM to 11 AM at their studio at 4909 Penn Avenue. It's aimed at ages 8 to 12, so it's a good fit for the elementary and middle school crowd.
The class starts with the fundamentals of the style — the jack, the bounce, and body isolations — and then mixes in elements of modern, contemporary, and jazz for a fresh take on the dance. From there, the kids work through new combinations to learn and get some freestyle opportunities to move on their own. It's a full hour that covers both the technical side and the chance to just dance.
