Charity fundraising month at Hofbrauhaus Pittsburgh, with patrons asked to round up their checks for the Copeland Burn Fund.
Hofbrauhaus Pittsburgh Brewery & Restaurant is running a month-long fundraiser called Give a Little. Help a Lot! throughout October, and it's one of those things that doesn't ask for much but adds up. The whole thing is part of their October at Our Haus program, which the venue dedicates to Fire Prevention Month.
They've teamed up with BOB-FM and the UPMC Mercy Burn Center—which they describe as one of the nation's best burn centers—to raise awareness and support for the Copeland Burn Fund. The fund helps burn survivors and at-risk communities, so the money goes toward lifesaving treatment, recovery resources, and community safety programs. It's a cause that hits close to home, especially given how much of the work happens right here in the city.
Participating is easy: throughout the month, patrons are invited to "round up" their check to the nearest dollar, with the change going to the fund. It's a low-pressure way to contribute while you're out for a meal or a few drinks, and because it runs all month, you can do it whenever you happen to be in. The more people who round up, the more the fund can put toward those treatment and recovery resources.
