Free, informal lunch-hour concert by the Resident Artists of Pittsburgh Opera, with a reception afterwards.
Pittsburgh Opera is hosting another Song Shop concert at the Bitz Opera Factory on Saturday, February 6, 2027. The performance runs from 12 PM to 1 PM, and it's free. The program features the company's Resident Artists, the young singers who are in residence with the opera throughout the season.
If you're not familiar with the series, the Song Shop concerts are exactly what they sound like: informal, lunch-hour performances given by those Resident Artists. They usually last about an hour, and the themes change from one concert to the next, so the repertoire shifts each time. The whole thing is designed to be fun and open to everyone, and the opera encourages you to bring a friend and a lunch along with you. It's a low-stakes way to hear these singers up close without needing to be an opera regular to feel at home.
After the music, the Friends of Pittsburgh Opera host a reception, so there's a chance to hang around and talk after the singing is done. One thing to keep in mind: RSVP is required, so you'll want to let them know you're coming before you head over.
