Weekly lunch gathering run by the Italian Department where participants bring their own lunch to share an hour together.
Tavola Italiana kicks off its fall run at the Global Hub on Thursday, October 29, from 12 PM to 1 PM. It's a weekly lunch gathering run by the Italian Department, and the format is as low-key as it sounds: you bring your own lunch and spend the hour eating and talking with whoever else shows up. There's no formal program or ticket to worry about, just a designated time and place to hang out.
The sessions run every Thursday through the fall, starting October 29 and continuing November 5, 12, and 19, then picking back up December 3 and 10. If you can't make the first one, there are plenty more to choose from over the next couple of months.
It all happens at the Global Hub, on the first floor of Posvar Hall. The Hub is a student-centered, university-wide resource and engagement center run by the University Centre for International Studies. Its whole point is connecting students to opportunities to internationalize their experiences at Pitt, both locally and globally, with the aim of preparing global-ready graduates. Tavola Italiana fits right into that—a small, informal way to bring people together around a shared interest in Italian culture and language, right in the middle of the campus day.
