Jazz-pop singer-songwriter Emma Nissen brings her 'Jesus and Jazz' sound to City Winery Pittsburgh with dine-at-your-show and wine-at-your-table service.
Emma Nissen plays City Winery Pittsburgh on Thursday, October 22, at 1627 Smallman Street. She's an American jazz-pop singer-songwriter who describes her style as 'Christian Jazz'—a blend of soulful vocals, jazz influences, gospel melodies, and faith-centered songwriting. It's a sound that sits right at the intersection of jazz and gospel, and she's the one writing the songs.
Her rise started in late 2023, when an Instagram reel of her scatting on her original song 'Breathe' went viral. That clip launched what fans call her 'Jesus and Jazz' sound and brought in more than 200 million social media views, along with attention from artists like SZA, Meghan Trainor, Lauren Daigle, and Queen Latifah. From there, producer Adam Blackstone invited her to play New York's Blue Note, a gig that led to the chart-topping single 'Love Like You' and her debut album of the same name in 2024, which hit No. 1 on the iTunes Christian music chart within 24 hours of release. She followed that with a second album, Moved, in June 2026.
