Multimedia concert in which Dolly Parton appears on screen while the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra plays her signature hits and songs from her upcoming Broadway musical.
Dolly Parton is coming to Heinz Hall on Tuesday, January 26, 2027, at 7:30 PM, but not in the way you might expect. She won't be on stage in person; instead, she appears on screen to guide the audience through her life, her stories, and her career. The music happens live around her, with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra playing alongside guest vocalists and musicians, using orchestrations by David Hamilton.
The program draws on her signature hits—Jolene, Coat of Many Colors, and I Will Always Love You—along with her own personal favorites and songs from her upcoming Broadway musical. It's a multimedia performance, so you'll see her on screen while the orchestra and guests handle the music in the room. The whole thing is a co-production of Dolly Parton, Schirmer Theatrical, and Sony Music Publishing.
There's a charitable side to it, too. The Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra has partnered with the Dollywood Foundation so that $1 from every ticket goes to Dolly Parton's Imagination Library, which mails free books to children from birth to age five. So, your ticket does a bit more than just get you a seat.
