DIY pop-up card workshop using vintage materials provided to create bespoke greeting cards.
Creepy Crafty is hosting a pop-up card workshop at One of One on Sunday, October 18. The whole point is to make your own bespoke greeting cards, and the pop-up part is exactly what it sounds like: when you open the card, something inside stands up and takes shape. It's a hands-on session, so you'll be doing the cutting and folding yourself rather than just watching someone else do it.
The materials are where this gets interesting. Instead of fresh cardstock and store-bought supplies, you'll be working with vintage materials provided for the workshop. That means you're raiding old papers and found bits to build your cards, so what you end up with will have a look you can't really get from a kit. Since you're making them from scratch, you can tailor each one to whoever you're giving it to, rather than picking something off a shelf.
If you've never made a pop-up card before, that's fineโthe workshop is set up for you to work through it there. You'll walk away with a few finished cards that you actually made yourself, which is a nice thing to have on hand for the next time you need a birthday or thank-you note. And because they're handmade from vintage materials, they'll be one-of-a-kind, so you're not just handing someone a generic card.

The workshop runs from 6 PM to 10 PM at One of One, 6719 Reynolds St, Pittsburgh, PA 15206. It's a four-hour window, so there's plenty of time to take your time with the folding and the decorating without feeling rushed.
