Monthly networking event for artists and creatives hosted by the Greater Pittsburgh Arts Council at WQED's Fred Rogers Studio.
The Greater Pittsburgh Arts Council brings the next Creative Hive to WQED's Fred Rogers Studio on Tuesday, November 17, from 5:30 to 7:30 PM. If you've been around the city's arts scene for a while, you probably know the drill: the Hive is a monthly community-building event that pairs a casual setting with a rotating venue. Each month it moves to a different cultural space, which does two things at onceβit introduces creatives to one another and to corners of the city they might never have visited otherwise.
There's no program or agenda here. You won't find a scheduled lineup or a set of presentations to sit through. Instead, it's just a chance to network and connect, especially across different disciplines and roles. You might find yourself talking to a painter, a dancer, and a grant writer all in the same hour. The Arts Council provides snacks and non-alcoholic beverages, so you can just show up and hang out.
This month's location is the real draw. The event is hosted at WQED's Fred Rogers Studio, the room where Mister Rogers' Neighborhood was filmed, inside the nation's first community-supported television station. It's a piece of Pittsburgh history that doesn't usually open its doors for a casual Tuesday evening, so it's a good excuse to spend a couple of hours in a space you've likely only seen on screen.
