Meet-and-greet with Student Affairs Deans, including the Dean of Students, at the Carriage House.
Dean's Hour is happening at the Carriage House on Wednesday, November 18, from 4 PM to 5 PM. It's a Student Affairs event, and the whole point is to put you in the same room as the people running things on the student side of campus.
Three deans will be there: Chris Purcell, Dean of Students; Natty Burfield, Assistant Dean for Residence Life and Student Conduct; and Simmone Bell, Assistant Dean for Student Success and Engagement. That's a good spread of what they actually handle—everything from the general student experience and housing to the academic and engagement side of things. If you've ever wondered who to talk to about your dorm, your classes, or just how to get more involved, these are the people who can actually point you in the right direction.
It's not a formal meeting or a presentation. The afternoon is built around activities and giveaways, so you'll be hanging out and chatting rather than sitting through a lecture. It's a low-pressure way to get to know the administration on a first-name basis, and if you've got a question or a suggestion, this is a good time to bring it up.
