Free monthly outreach art workshop for adults aged 16 and over, with no prior experience needed, held at the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh - Brookline.
Creative Citizen Studios is holding an interactive art workshop at the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh - Brookline on Monday, October 19. It's part of a monthly series they run in community spaces across the city, and this one is led by an instructor from the studio. The sessions are open to anyone aged 16 and over, and no prior experience is needed, so you don't have to be an artist to show up and get involved.
Caregivers are welcome to come along, too. The whole point of these outreach workshops is to make art more inclusive and accessible, and that extends to who can be in the room. If you've been wanting to try something creative but weren't sure where to start, this is a low-stakes way to jump in.
This isn't a one-off, either. The workshops run on the third Monday of each month—October 19, November 16, and December 21—though that's subject to holiday and closure exceptions. If you can't make this one, there are two more coming up before the end of the year.

Beyond these public sessions, Creative Citizen Studios also works with disability organizations, group homes, and activity centers to bring affordable workshop opportunities to them directly. They're open to other venues hosting a session as well. For any outreach programming inquiries, the studio directs people to Outreach Coordinator Megan Shope.
As for the practicals: the workshop is free of charge for participants and caregivers, with the hosting organizations covering the cost of bringing the sessions to their communities. You'll find it at the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh - Brookline, 708 Brookline Blvd., Pittsburgh, PA 15226.
