Candlelight tribute concert in which the Listesso String Quartet plays Queen and ABBA under candlelight in the Omni William Penn Hotel's ballroom.
Candlelight: Queen vs. ABBA comes to the Omni William Penn Hotel on Sunday, November 29, 2026. It's a tribute concert that puts two of the biggest pop catalogs side by side, with the Listeso String Quartet handling the music. The whole thing is part of the Candlelight series, which swaps stage lights for the glow of candles throughout the room, so the music is the only thing you're really looking at.
That means the set is a tribute, not a performance by the original artists or their estates. The Listeso String Quartet takes the songs and plays them on strings, and the program pulls from both Queen and ABBA, so you'll hear them back-to-back rather than one after the other. It's a string quartet's take on two very different kinds of pop—Queen's theatrical rock and ABBA's dance-floor melodies—stripped down to their melodies and played in the same room.
The venue is the Historic Hotel Ballroom at the Omni William Penn Hotel, 530 William Penn Place, downtown. The ballroom opened in 1916 as a Renaissance Revival piece by Benno Janssen and Franklin Abbott, and it still has its Beaux-Arts and Art Deco details. It holds 1,200 people, and the candles are the only light in the room, which changes the whole feel from a typical concert hall.
