Solo show by Austin singer-songwriter Bob Schneider, blending folk, rock, bluegrass and country, at City Winery Pittsburgh.
Bob Schneider plays City Winery Pittsburgh on Wednesday, October 21, in a solo set. He's an Austin, Texas singer-songwriter and former frontman of The Ugly Americans and The Scabs, one of the most celebrated musicians in the Austin scene.
Schneider blends folk, rock, rap, funk, bluegrass, reggae and country into a style he calls 'FRUNK'. His recorded catalogue runs from the major-label debut Lonelyland, which brought him national attention, to I Have Seen the End of the World and It Looks Like This (2003), A Perfect Day (2011) and The Texas Bluegrass Massacre (2025). He's won more than 59 Austin Music Awards, has performed twice on Austin City Limits, is in the 20th year of his residency at The Saxon Pub and plays over a hundred shows a year.
His live act pairs a distinctive, husky voice with sharp storytelling, adventurous arrangements and an engaging sense of humour, moving from heartfelt ballads to groove-driven rock. This is a solo show, so it's just him on stage.
