Interactive social gathering for University of Pittsburgh students with live music and free food on the fourth floor of Posvar Hall.
The Block Party is happening on the fourth floor of Wesley W. Posvar Hall this Thursday, October 22, from 3 PM to 5 PM. It's an interactive social gathering run by a group of University of Pittsburgh centers, and the whole thing is aimed at undergraduate and graduate students.
If you're a student, the point is to connect with the centers that call the fourth floor home. That list includes the Centre for Urban Education, Africana Studies, the Centre for African Studies, the Centre for Latin American Studies, Global Studies, and the Office of Child Development. You can find out about student clubs and discover new campus spaces to hang out in between classes. There's live music and free food, and you don't need to register to show up.
It's a good way to see what's actually going on up there if you've spent your time on other floors. The centers are all in the same area, so you can move from one to the next and get a sense of what each one does without having to track them down separately. Between the music and the food, it's more of a social afternoon than a formal orientation, so you can drop in and stay as long as you like.
