Touring production of the Tony Award-winning musical Beetlejuice, based on Tim Burton's film, at the Benedum Center.
Beetlejuice is coming to the Benedum Center for a short run from February 5 to 7, 2027, as part of the PNC Broadway in Pittsburgh season. It's the musical based on Tim Burton's film, and it's returning to the road after a successful run on Broadway.
The story follows Lydia Deetz, a strange teenager whose life changes when she meets a recently deceased couple and a demon with a thing for stripes. From there, it's the kind of chaos you'd expect from the name: a ghost-filled house, a lot of irreverent humor, and a plot that doesn't take itself too seriously. The production is built on an irreverent book, an astonishing set, and a score described as out of this Netherworld. Entertainment Weekly called it "a feast for the eyes and soul," and it took home the 2019 Tony Award for Best Musical.
If you're familiar with the movie, you've got a good idea of the vibe—the stripes, the ghosts, and the dark comedy—but the stage version brings its own energy. It's a big, loud production that leans into the spectacle, and the Tony win gives you a sense of how it landed with the theater crowd. The run is brief, so you'll have to pick your night from February 5 to 7.
