Evening art and design Q&A session with the gallery open late, around the Clayton Merrell exhibition.
Concept Art Gallery is staying open late for an After Hours Q&A session on Friday, October 23, with the gallery open for the evening. The session is built around the work of Clayton Merrell, whose exhibition Heat Index is currently on view in the Upstairs Gallery. It's a good chance to see the work and talk about it with the artist while the gallery stays open past its usual hours.
If you haven't stopped by yet, Heat Index is the show Merrell is showing upstairs. The Q&A is a way to get a bit more context on the pieces than you'd get just walking through on your own, and since the gallery is open late, you can take your time with the work before or after the conversation.
For a bit of background on where you're heading: Concept Art Gallery is a Pittsburgh gallery and auction house in Regent Square that's been around since 1972. It does two things at onceβfine art sales and auctions held every couple of months, each built around a new theme. They also handle the practical side of art, with art handling, appraisals, and custom framing. It's been a fixture in the city's arts community for decades.
