Pittsburgh CLO's musical adaptation of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol, pairing the classic story with beloved Christmas carols and special effects.
Pittsburgh CLO is bringing A Musical Christmas Carol to the Byham Theater this December, with the run starting Friday, December 11 and continuing through December 23. It's a musical take on Charles Dickens' holiday classic, following Ebenezer Scrooge as the ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Yet to Come lead him toward a change of heart.
The production pairs the familiar story—Scrooge, Bob Cratchit, and Tiny Tim—with beloved Christmas carols and special effects. The company frames it as Dickens' story the way it was meant to be experienced: live, in a room full of people feeling it happen together. It's a tale of generosity, family, and redemption, and since it's a musical, the carols are woven right into the telling rather than just playing in the background.
