Night of garage rock, punk and math-rock from Phoenix regulars The Schizophonics, DOMS and Octopoulpe at Linger Longer Lounge.
The Schizophonics are playing Linger Longer Lounge on Tuesday, October 20, alongside DOMS and Octopoulpe. It's a three-band bill that pulls from a few different corners of the punk and garage world, and it's all happening at 6522 N 16th St #6 in Phoenix.
DOMS is a Phoenix band whose sound stretches across post-punk, punk, egg punk, and garage rock. Don Bolles described them as "so powerful, so cool," and that pretty much sums up the energy they bring. The Schizophonics are also Phoenix regulars, so two of the three acts on the bill are local names you've likely run into around town.
Octopoulpe is the outlier. He emerged from a fish tank in Seoul in 2015, bringing a one-of-a-kind blend of math-rock and hardcore punk to the stage. The half-naked creature plays his drum kit to control additional instruments, lights, and video projections, sharing the stage with his digital alter egos and a rotating lineup of special guests. Since 2015, he's played more than 850 shows in over 50 countries and is represented by Kim Jean Poulpe.
