Songwriter Round

Conor Churchill headlines a songwriter round at Yucca Tap Room on Wednesday, October 21. He's the main feature of the night, and he's sharing the bill with He, Then, AJ Odneal, and Josler Tudisco. If you're not familiar with the format, a songwriter round is a bit different from a standard show: instead of each person taking a full set and clearing the stage, the writers usually sit together and rotate through their songs, often talking about the stories behind them in between. It's more of a listening room vibe than a concert, and it lets you hear the songs stripped back.

Churchill takes the lead here, and the rest of the lineup—He, Then, AJ Odneal, and Josler Tudisco—rounds out the bill. With four writers in the mix, you'll get a good variety of voices and styles in one evening rather than just one person's perspective. Since it's a round, the focus stays on the songwriting itself—the lyrics, the melodies, and the way each person approaches a song—rather than a full band sound.

The show is in Phoenix at Yucca Tap Room, and it kicks off at 8 PM. Admission is free, so you can just show up and listen without worrying about a ticket. If you've been looking for a night of live music that's more about the songs than the spectacle, this is a good place to start.
