Casual Monday night group bike ride through downtown Phoenix at a gentle eight miles per hour, finishing with a stop at a local pub.
The Phoenix Down Tempo Ride kicks off at Civic Space Park on Monday, October 26, at 8 PM. It's a casual Monday night ride through the heart of Phoenix, and it's designed as a gentle introduction for anyone who's a bit nervous about riding on the streets. The group welcomes all types of bikes, the routes are accessible, and the pace stays around eight miles per hour. You might hit a few short ramps, like pedestrian bridges over the freeway, but otherwise it's a low-stress way to get out on two wheels.
Each ride lasts about an hour and finishes with a stop at a local pub or bar, often one that's 21+. If you pick up a flat or a mechanical issue along the way, the group supports you, so you aren't left stranded. The start and finish point, Civic Space Park at 424 N Central Ave, is a public park in downtown Phoenix known for its environmentally friendly features, a floating sculpture, interactive light installations, and a water splash pad. It hosts a wide range of special events throughout the year.

If you're just getting back into riding or want a low-key way to see the city with a group, it's a good place to start. The rides are free, and they all start at 8 PM at Civic Space Park.
