90-minute paranormal investigation tour of the historic Orpheum Theatre led by the AZPIRS team, with proceeds benefiting the venue.
The Orpheum Theatre is opening its doors after hours for a paranormal investigation tour on Sunday, October 25, and again on Sunday, November 1. Both nights start at 6 PM. The whole thing is led by the team from AZPIRS, and it's presented by the Friends of the Orpheum Theatre, with all the proceeds going back to the venue.
If you've ever been to the Orpheum, you know it's the only historic theatre left in the Valley. It's still the go-to spot for special events, performances, and celebrations, and it does ghost tours and artist spotlights alongside its usual bookings. This is a different kind of visit: a 90-minute "Lights Out Investigation" that takes you through the building after dark. The AZPIRS team leads the group through the theatre, including some non-public spaces, before settling into some of its most active areas with paranormal investigation equipment. While you're there, the guide tells the history of the Orpheum and the land it stands on.
It's a slow-burn kind of nightโwalking through the empty house, seeing the parts of it that usually stay closed to the public, and then spending some time sitting in the spots where the activity is most reported. If you're into the paranormal, it's a chance to be in one of the city's oldest theaters when the lights are down and the crowds are gone. If you just like the building, it's a way to see it from the inside out.
