Mill's End at The 1227 Taproom

Mill's End will perform at The 1227 Taproom on Friday, February 5, 2027. The Phoenix-based group has been a consistent presence in the local music scene since 2008, when singer and guitarist Jeff Bump formed the band. The name itself is a nod to a café that once operated in Tempe, grounding the group in local history from the start.

The band’s approach to music is centered on a desire to capture a raw, honest rock and roll sound. Their style draws heavily from the traditions of classic rock acts, specifically citing influences like the Black Crowes, the Rolling Stones, and Pearl Jam. Their sound is built on the foundation of these classic influences, aiming to strip away modern production gloss in favor of the kind of guitar-driven energy that defined the rock music of previous decades. This focus on a straightforward, unpolished sound has sustained them for nearly two decades. They marked a significant milestone in 2018 when they celebrated their tenth anniversary as a band, a testament to their longevity in a scene that often sees groups come and go quickly.

Over the years, Mill's End has built a resume that includes a variety of local and regional appearances. They have performed at the Sidepony Music Festival and were part of the entertainment for the Arizona Coyotes’ “White Out” playoffs, an event that highlights their ability to play for larger, high-energy crowds. Their live experience also includes opening slots for established touring acts, having shared the stage with Roger Clyne and the Peacemakers, Cowboy Mouth, and Ace Frehley of Kiss. Their reach has even extended beyond the local scene, with one of their tracks once appearing among the ten most requested songs on an Australian internet radio station, showing that their brand of rock resonates with listeners far outside of Arizona.
