Justin Nozuka plays The Rebel Lounge on Indian School Road in Phoenix.
Justin Nozuka plays The Rebel Lounge on Sunday, October 25, at 7:30 PM. He's the only name on the bill, so it's a full night of his own material.
If you're not familiar with him, Nozuka was born in New York City and raised in Toronto in a family of musicians. He first found global success with his debut album, Holly, which went gold. Since then, he's played some of the bigger festival stages, including Glastonbury and Fuji Rock.
His sound has shifted quite a bit over the years. Early on, it was acoustic and folk-infused, and that's the side of him that earned a Juno nomination for You I Wind Land and Sea. More recently, though, he's moved toward an alternative R&B sound, so the set will likely pull from both ends of that trajectory—the folk-leaning songs from his earlier records and the R&B direction of his newer releases.
