Prog-rock quartet Improvement Movement plays The Rebel Lounge with special guests ADRON to celebrate their album 'Your Perfect Real Life'.
Improvement Movement play The Rebel Lounge on Tuesday, October 27, with Adron opening. The Atlanta quartet is touring their new album, Your Perfect Real Life, which came out August 21 on ATO Records. They've spent the last two years on the road, supporting acts like Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Iron & Wine, Houndmouth, and Khurangbin.
Coming out of Atlanta's DIY scene, the band draws on no wave, punk, improv, and free jazz. Tony Aparo fronts the group, with Clark Hamilton, Marshall Ruffin, and Zach Pyles rounding out the lineup. They describe Your Perfect Real Life as an earnest case for embracing life's unpredictability, and the record is built around baroque grunge harmonies and four-part group singing. It follows their 2024 sophomore album, Slump, which focused on personal friendships and right relation.
