Desert Ridge Marketplace's annual Halloween Candy Crawl with trick-or-treating, a costume contest, carnival games, a kid-friendly haunted house and pumpkin painting.
Desert Ridge Marketplace is bringing back its annual Halloween celebration on Friday, October 23, with a new theme this year: Heroes vs Villains Candy Crawl. The main event is free and open to the public, and it takes over The District, the open-air shopping area at 21001 N Tatum Blvd in Phoenix.
The core of the night is trick-or-treating throughout The District, so you can walk from shop to shop with your kids and collect candy. There's a costume contest with age groups called at 6 PM, carnival games, and a kid-friendly haunted house set up in the former American Eagle space next to Rolling Rack Boutique. You'll also find pumpkins to paint at District Patch City, an on-theme carnival in the Barnes & Noble courtyard, and complimentary train rides at the District Stage. Live entertainment is provided by ALAKAZAM! Event & Entertainment.
Running alongside the main crawl is a new VIP Experience with Make-A-Wish. For this one, children pick a side—hero or villain—and get their own mask and cape, a treat, and a light-up toy, along with some "Power-Up Dust" and ride admission. Reservations are required for each child, and 100% of the proceeds go to Make-A-Wish.

The main event runs from 6 PM to 8 PM, and the VIP Experience starts an hour earlier, from 5 PM to 8 PM, over at the Splash Pad. Tickets for the main Candy Crawl are free.
