Family Fright Night: Movie in the Park

Family Fright Night is coming to the Washington Activity Center on Saturday, October 17, from 4 PM to 9 PM. It's a free movie night put on by Phoenix Parks and Recreation, and the main feature is Scooby-Doo on the big screen. Around the movie, they're adding a costume contest, games, and entertainment, so there's more to do than just sit and watch.

It's one of several free, family-friendly celebrations Phoenix Parks and Recreation is spreading across the city for the autumn season. The whole thing is part of a wider fall rollout that includes community trunk-or-treats, inflatables, and spooky attractions as the city's parks shift into fall mode. The evening is built as an affordable community night out for residents, pairing a big-screen showing with a seasonal atmosphere and no need to travel far outside the city.

If you're planning to go, the movie itself is free, though there will be food trucks on-site with food available for purchase. The Washington Activity Center is at 2240 W Citrus Way, Phoenix, AZ 85015. The whole thing runs from 4 PM to 9 PM on Saturday, October 17.
