A live, multi-sensory string quartet concert with music from horror and pop films, performed in a flickering candlelit setting at the Phoenix Art Museum.
Candlelight: A Haunted Evening of Halloween Classics comes to Whiteman Hall at the Phoenix Art Museum on Friday, October 23, with two performances that same night: one at 6:30 PM and another at 8:30 PM. Both run an hour. The music is handled by Listeso, a Phoenix-based string quartet, and the whole room is lit by candlelight.
The program is built around Halloween, pulling from spine-chilling movies and classical repertoire, with a setlist that crosses over from horror to pop. It's a multi-sensory setup—live strings in a candlelit room—and the music is the focus of the night. The evening is recommended for ages 8 and up, and anyone under 16 needs to be accompanied by an adult.
Whiteman Hall is a 297-capacity auditorium that became part of the Phoenix Art Museum during its 1996 expansion. It's known for a classically progressive design, a silver leaf back wall, and state-of-the-art audiovisual technology, and it mostly hosts audiovisual presentations, lectures, and film festivals. This is one of the few times it's used for a live concert.
