Ballet Arizona's production of Marius Petipa's romantic comedy Don Quixote, with choreography by Daniela Cardim and live music.
Don Quixote comes to Symphony Hall from February 11 to 14, 2027, with six performances over four days. It's based on Miguel de Cervantes' novel and choreographed by Marius Petipa, with adaptation and additional choreography by Daniela Cardim. The music is by Ludwig Minkus, and it's performed live.
On stage, it's described as ballet's ultimate romantic comedyβfull of joy, humor, and Spanish flair. The production is staged by Cardim after Petipa, and it's built around theatrical energy, cheeky characters, and dazzling dance, presented as a celebration of love and unforgettable fun. If you've read the book, you'll recognize the spirit of it here.
There are a few ways to see it. The run opens Thursday, February 11, at 7 PM, followed by Friday, February 12, at 7:30 PM. Saturday, February 13, has a double: a 2 PM matinee and a 7:30 PM evening show. Sunday, February 14, also has two, at 1 PM and 5:30 PM. If you're more of a matinee person, Saturday and Sunday give you plenty of options; if you prefer the evening, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday have you covered.
