Daytime digital dome show that follows paleoclimatologist Dr. Gina Moseley as she searches caves for clues about Earth's past climate.
Ancient Caves is playing as a daytime show at the Arizona Science Center on Thursday, October 22. It's a dome show that follows paleoclimatologist Dr. Gina Moseley on a mission to unlock the secrets of Earth's past climate. Until recently, scientists had no reliable way to study the planet's distant past; Moseley and her team of cave explorers travel to remote caves in France, Iceland, the Bahamas, the U.S., and Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula searching for stalagmite samples—geologic fingerprints that reveal how rapidly Earth's climate can change and how that has affected human civilization.
The show plays under the Dorrance DOME, formerly the Dorrance Planetarium, one of the most advanced digital domes in the world: a 60-foot high-resolution LED display powered by the Cosm CX immersive technology system, renamed and upgraded with support from the Dorrance Family Foundation and the Richard F. Caris Charitable Trust. It's part of the center's daytime programming, and the venue is cashless.
