Wishy, with youbet

Wishy play the First Unitarian Church on Thursday, October 15, with youbet joining them. It's part of the Philly Haps series held in the church's basement, which is an all-ages room.

Wishy is the project of dual vocalists and songwriters Kevin Krauter and Nina Pitchkites, who met in high school in Indianapolis. They're rounded out by guitarist Dimitri Morris, bassist Mitch Collins, and drummer Conner Host. Their discography has been prolific over the last few years: the Mana and Paradise EPs in 2023, the debut LP Triple Seven in 2024, the Planet Popstar EP in 2025, and the album Nature's Pill. The sound fuses sugary grunge and dream-pop, with zany lyrics that they describe as transfiguring melancholia into freedom.

Krauter and Pitchkites also record and perform as youbet, a musical-education project they do with teachers Nick Llobet and Micah Prussack. Their self-titled album grew out of a quest to learn 1,000 songs together, so you'll be seeing both sides of the duo on the same bill.

Doors open at 7:30 PM and the show starts at 8 PM. Tickets are $25.81.
