Live show by Houston rapper and R&B singer Theotis Joe, with support from 144,000 Chosen Few and Keyshanna K, at Deke's Garage Roadhouse BBQ.
Theotis Joe plays Deke's Garage Roadhouse BBQ on Wednesday, October 21, with 144,000 Chosen Few and Keyshanna K on the bill. Joe is a rapper, singer, songwriter, producer, author, and entrepreneur who's been based in Philadelphia since 2005, when he moved here to develop his career and his songwriting. He's known for blending hip hop, R&B, and motivational storytelling.
His path to this sound started long before he landed in Philly. Originally from Houston, Texas, he spent time in Louisiana and Delaware, where the hip hop and R&B culture of the late 1980s and early 1990s shaped his passion for music. That era's influence still runs through his work. His debut album, After Hours, featured the song "Rocket Luv," which went on to appear in the film Days of Power.
In 2021, Joe and his partners launched D.I.R. Records—Doing It Right Records—an independent label focused on consistent releases and artist development. Since then, he's expanded into music production, visual media, and independent business ventures, so the label is part of a broader creative output that goes beyond just recording.
