Pop-punk band The Paradox plays The Sanctuary of the First Unitarian Church in Philadelphia with support from Meet Me @ The Altar.
The Paradox play The Sanctuary of the First Unitarian Church on Wednesday, November 11, with Meet Me @ The Altar opening. It's a pop-punk bill in a room that usually sees a very different kind of gathering, and if you've been following the band's run, you know the scale they've been playing at lately.
The Paradox formed in Atlanta in the summer of 2024 around Eric Dangerfield on vocals and guitar, Christopher "Xelan" Bernard on lead guitar and vocals, Donald Bryant on bass, and Percy "PC3" Crews on drums. Four young African American musicians, they've spent the last couple of years redefining the look and sound of pop-punk. Their rise has been fast: within three weeks of posting their first content online they had more than 130,000 followers, and less than a year and a half later that number had grown to 2.1 million across all platforms. They've put up a Billboard Alternative Airplay number one and toured alongside some of rock's biggest names.
Their co-signs read like a who's who of rock royalty and cultural tastemakers. Billie Joe Armstrong personally invited them to open a Green Day stadium show, and Travis Barker, Joel Madden, Jack White, Kid Cudi, SZA and LeBron James have all publicly championed the band. That kind of attention usually comes with a lot of noise, but the music itself is what's brought them here.
