Sweeping Promises play The First Unitarian Church on their 'You Say I Romanticize Tour', with support from Zillas on Acid and Mesh.
Sweeping Promises play The First Unitarian Church on Thursday, November 12, with Zillas on Acid and Mesh opening. It's a stop on their You Say I Romanticize Tour.
If you haven't followed them, the band started in a disused, reverberant concrete laboratory in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Lira Mondal and CauField Schnug tracked their debut album, Hunger for a Way Out, using a self-devised 'single-mic technique' and mixed it in mono. They finished it just in time to enter quarantine. In 2023, they added drummer Spenser Gralla, toured the US and abroad, and moved to a DIY recording compound in Lawrence, Kansas. There, they recorded their second album, Good Living is Coming for You, released on Feel It Records in the US and Sub Pop in the UK and EU. It's been noted for its pop songwriting and idiosyncratic punk production.
