Live jazz night with two sets by the Matt Kahn Quartet, with guitar, EVI, drums and bass, at Chris' Jazz Cafe.
Matt Kahn leads his quartet at Chris' Jazz Cafe on Tuesday, October 20, with two sets at 7:30 PM and 9:00 PM. The lineup is Kahn on guitar, John Swana on EVI, Erik Johnson on drums, and Micah Jones on bass. The EVI is an Electronic Valve Instrument, so you'll have a wind instrument in the mix alongside the guitar, bass, and drums.
Kahn is a guitarist, sideman, composer, and educator from the Jersey Shore. He earned his Bachelor's at the University of the Arts and has played with John Swana, Miles Moon, Atomic Fizz, Taylor Kelly, and Khalil Amaru. He recently held the Guitar 1 chair on the North American Tour of Broadway's Come From Away, became an adjunct at Rider University, and finished recording his debut album, which is set for release in 2026. This show comes right as that record is arriving.

There are a few ways to do the night. General Admission is around $20 with an a la carte menu. If you want to make a meal of it, the Dinner & Show is a three-course dinner for about $80, and the VIP Dinner & Show puts you stage-front for around $100. Beverages aren't included in any of those, and there's a $12 server gratuity added to the Dinner & Show options. Two sets, 7:30 PM and 9:00 PM, at Chris' Jazz Cafe in Philadelphia.
