James Ivy plays Ukie Club on Saturday, November 21, as part of The Seams North America Tour, presented by 4333 Collective and R5 Productions. He's opening the night with Harry Teardrop, the solo project of New York's Harrison Li.
James Ivy is the project of New Jersey-born, New York-based singer-songwriter and producer James Butler. He first appeared on Soundcloud in 2015 and later put out two EPs, Good Grief in 2021 and Everything Perfect in 2023, both of which he ran through a digital filter. Since then, he's supported Keshi, Porter Robinson and Anamanaguchi, and produced for THE BLSSM, Roy Blair, Porter Robinson and Wavedash. In January 2026, he teamed up with Roy Blair on American Road In New Jersey.
His debut album, The Seams, takes a different approach. It's deliberately raw, built around acoustic guitar, live drums, strings and an old DX7 synthesizer. The Fader described the record as a series of end-credits scenes — textured, emotive and cinematic. The Philadelphia date is one stop on the North American tour for that record.
