Rare solo seated show by folk singer-songwriter Haley Heynderickx, with support from John Roseboro, inside the First Unitarian Church.
Haley Heynderickx plays The Sanctuary of the First Unitarian Church on Friday, December 18, as part of a run of rare solo performances. This one is a seated show inside the sanctuary, so it's a bit different from her usual bills.
Heynderickx is a singer-songwriter from Portland, Oregon, and one of contemporary folk's most quietly captivating voices. She first made her mark with I Need to Start a Garden, followed by Seed of a Seed. Her latest is What of Our Nature, a collaboration with Max GarcΓa Conover. This run of solo dates is a rare chance to hear her working alone, and this particular one is staged as a seated show inside the church sanctuary.
Opening the night is John Roseboro, a Haitian-American singer-songwriter, guitarist, producer, and visual artist based in Brooklyn. He calls his sound "post-bossa" β a fusion of Brazilian bossa nova and MPB with indie folk, jazz, soul, and alternative rock. He began releasing music independently in 2020 with Human Nature (2021) and found his breakthrough with the autobiographical Johnny (2023), followed by Fools (2024) and Va Va Voom. R5 Productions is promoting the date.
