Genre-blending folk ensemble Dallahan brings Celtic melodies and jigs to the Harold Prince Theatre for the first time in Philadelphia, part of the Americana Festival: Roots & Reinventions.
Dallahan play the Harold Prince Theatre at Annenberg Center on Thursday, February 11, 2027, at 7 PM. It's their first time performing in Philadelphia, presented by Penn Performing Arts as part of the Americana Festival: Roots & Reinventions.
They're a folk ensemble forged in the traditional music scenes of Scotland and Ireland, and they've built their sound around blending Celtic melodies with global influences. A typical set weaves jigs and reels together with story-driven ballads, and they pull from folk traditions in North America and the Balkans. The critic LiveIreland once described them as "like a world music festival in one group," and noted their playful humor and innovative virtuosity.
They debuted with When the Day Is On the Turn in 2014 and have toured Europe and North America since then. Along the way, they've earned Scots Trad Awards nominations and released albums including Matter of Time in 2016 and Smallworld in 2019, with collaborations that have brought them together with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra and Dougie MacLean. This Philadelphia date is their first time playing the city.
