Live show by fingerstyle guitarist Ali Tod with Philadelphia singer-songwriter Andrea Nardello at The Fallser Club.
Ali Tod plays The Fallser Club on Friday, November 6, with Philadelphia's own Andrea Nardello opening. It's a double bill of singer-songwriters, and the two bring pretty different ways of working a guitar.
Tod is a Scottish-born, Appalachian-based songwriter who builds a full-band sound out of a single acoustic guitar. She does it with percussive fingerstyle and live looping, so you're hearing the layers build in real time rather than coming off a track. She's shared the stage with Brandi Carlile and recorded her second EP, Lumbini '20, in Rodrigo y Gabriela's private studio. Right now, she's producing a new album with Kaki King and running the 2026 MusiSHEans Guitar Tour, so this stop in Philly is part of a busy year.
Nardello is a local name, and her work has drawn comparisons to Melissa Etheridge and Shawn Colvin. She's opened for Colbie Caillat, Brandi Carlile, and Tim Reynolds of The Dave Matthews Band. She won the Philadelphia Songwriter's Project Contest and Tri-State Indie's 'Acoustic Artist Of The Year,' and her songs 'Leave The Light On' and 'Home To Me' each took home WSTW's Award for Folk Song Of The Year. Most recently, she released the EP Human with collaborator Matt Duke.

Between the two, you've got Tod's looping and fingerstyle on one end and Nardello's songwriting on the other. The show starts at 8 PM on Friday, November 6, at The Fallser Club in Philadelphia.
