An all-day celebration showcasing the eleven ensembles of the Philadelphia Youth Orchestra Music Institute at the Kimmel Center.
The Philadelphia Youth Orchestra is taking over Marian Anderson Hall on Sunday, January 24, 2027, for its 12th Annual Showcase Concert. It's an all-day celebration of the PYO Music Institute, and the scale of it is worth spelling out: eleven different ensembles from across the Institute's program divisions are performing on the same day, one after another, in the same hall. The whole thing is open to family, friends, and the community.
When you see the full list, you get a sense of how much ground they cover. The flagship Philadelphia Youth Orchestra is there, along with the Philadelphia Young Artists Orchestra and the Young Musicians Debut Orchestra. Then there's the brass and strings: Bravo Brass and Prysm Strings, with separate groups for the Main Line and New Jersey. The wind and jazz sides are just as represented, with the Philadelphia Youth Symphonic Band, the Philadelphia Youth Concert Band, and the Philadelphia Youth Jazz Orchestra. And the younger ones get their turn too, with the Pizzicato Players and Tune Up Philly.
That's eleven ensembles in one day, and the PYO describes it as a way to show the breadth and depth of the Institute's program to the people who know them best. Rather than a single concert, it's a full day of music that lets you hear the different levels and styles the Institute works with, from the youngest players to the top youth orchestra.

It's happening at Marian Anderson Hall, inside the Kimmel Center at 300 S Broad St in Philadelphia. There are two performance times, 1 PM and 4 PM, so you can pick the one that works for you. If you've got kids or friends in the program, it's a good day to see them all in one place.
